(1)  Nice story here, making the connection with Eric.

(1) DARS Job Skills Trainer/Job Coach course, using concepts of Employment First

  • We use best practices of  Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE),  the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), and Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitation Services (DARS) Job Skills Trainer/Job Coach principles.
  • You are the primary decision maker, using informed choice (1).  This makes you awesome.
  • You will create an individual on-line portfolio that you can show future employers.  Pick your favorite social media tools.
  • The tutorials will be 1:1 or 1:2, one-hour meet-ups in a coffee shop or similar.
  • You will get opportunities to navigate the various social settings and environments.   This social learning is powerful and very useful.
  • Prior to each tutorial, you are asked to earn $10, and are asked to apply that $10 towards the bill at the coffee shop, acting as the host.
  • The tutorials are designed to contain many teachable moments of both stretching and mastery.  Please include as many as you can in your analysis.
  • You will document within your on-line postfolio a personal assessment of what you have learned during each tutorial, using your tools of choice.
  • You will post your bio,  document each training module showing what you learned, and how you will apply it into the future.
  • You are asked to give us feedback on improving the training.
